Who We Are (And How You Benefit).

Q: WHAT DOES "OFFICIANT" MEAN?
A: Someone who is legally authorized to preside over/perform a couple's wedding ceremony.

Q: WHAT OFFICIANT TYPES DO YOU HAVE?
A: Traditional and modern non-denominational ministers, pastors and civil officiants. Large metro areas on East, West and S.E. Coasts also have rabbis, priests and notaries. "Officiants" are known and called by many different names: wedding officiant, wedding minister, wedding officiator, marriage officiator, marriage minister, marriage officiant, marriage official, wedding clergy, marriage clergy, wedding celebrant, celebrant, wedding officiate, justice of the peace, JP, rabbi, priest, father, pastor, civil officiant, notary, notaries and reverend.

Q: WHAT CEREMONY TYPES DO YOU OFFER?
A: We serve virtually every type of couple from purely civil to very religious and everything in between including non-denominational, interfaith and multicultural. Note: Beyond their title, most of our ministers, rabbis and priests regularly officiate civil/non-religious ceremonies and most of our civil officiants also serve non-denominational and interfaith couples.

Q: WHAT SETS YOU APART FROM OTHERS?
A: (1) The fact that we hand-match each couple with an officiant and (2) The extent to which we are flexible and see that this is all only about a wedding and what would support a couple to have it the way they want (you are the sole deciders of everything). Of course we did not originate this idea nor are we the only ones who think this way, but we are a very spirited like-minded group of professional wedding officiants who take this concept a great distance--we are genuinely interested in your wedding day being the very most it can possibly be, as you would define it. We have served well if after the ceremony you can say: "We absolutely loved it. It was just what we wanted."

Q: "SOLE DECIDERS" FEELS OVERWHELMING. WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WE WANT OR HOW TO DO THIS.
A: You don't have to know anything right now. A WeddingOfficiants.com--type officiant's job is to bring this out--to assist couple's to realize what they want. This is done by initially giving couples choices and options. You may not know what you want, but when you see various ceremony parts, vows and creative options, you will know what you like and what you don't like. When you like something, obviously it is likely to be in your ceremony. When you don't like something, it will likely not be in your ceremony (unless it is modified per your need, which we assist you with). "Sole deciders" simply means that you have the right to make the choices and decisions about what is said and done during your ceremony.

Q: HOW DO YOU MATCH A COUPLE TO ONE OF YOUR ASSOCIATES?
A: We get to know our associates' background and needs and get to know a couple's ceremony particulars and needs. Each associate has this information on file at WeddingOfficiants.com and we learn about each couple through a form they submit through this site that details their particulars. We then see if there is a match (locality, type of officiant, availability, gender, etc.) If there is, we contact our associate( or more than one if there's more than one match). If our associate is available, the couple is then contacted by the associate(s).

Q: WHY DON'T YOU LIST OFFICIANTS AT YOUR SITE?
A: Because this would involve some form of advertising by associates and affect the quality that we believe in. When publisher and minister Paul Michael first started using associates (initially in 1995), he knew that to achieve the level of officiating that he believed in, he couldn't be a directory, listing or advertising business. Because all officiants are not equal in how they officiate, just like with any other job, Paul did not want to be a generic list of anyone and everyone who has ever officiated a wedding. He didn't feel that this would best support the end result he envisioned. He chose, instead, to use a screening/interview process and to hand-pick associates without the influence of advertising money. Since the beginning, and today, it is where one's heart is and how strong one's intention is to serve in a great way, that determines who associates with WeddingOfficiants.com.

Q: DO YOU HAVE MANY TYPES OF OFFICIANTS?
A: Yes we do. We have men and women associates from diverse ordinations, travels, heritages, backgrounds, persuasions and disciplines. We have ministers, pastors, priests, rabbis who do everything from purely civil to religious. We have officiants specializing in civil only and civil officiants who regularly do non-denominational and interfaith ceremonies. Regardless of title (which is only a "title" and doesn't necessarily reflect experience, attitude, know-how and capability), most associates are very experienced doing interfaith, non-denominational, spiritual, multicultural and purely non-religious/civil ceremonies. Those with an ordination in a particular denomination have the gift of being able to perform authentic and legal denominational ceremonies (e.g., Catholic, Christian, Jewish, etc.).

WEDDINGOFFICIANTS.COM ASSOCIATES = MORE FREEDOM.
You choose what's best for you. You are the sole-deciders. You don't have to walk on egg shells with your officiant. You don't have to ask for permission to do/have something in your ceremony. You won't be hearing talk on what someone thinks is best for you. WeddingOfficiants.com--type officiants are more modern in this way. They are couple-oriented, not clergy oriented. Their job, their ministry, is to interact with a couple such that it all results in the way they want. With this approach, with their open-minded attitude, it is no accident that every week we hear from couples that their wedding ceremony was the most relaxed and the most meaningful. This is why we're here. This is what we enjoy doing in life. This is why WeddingOfficiants.com is a site that can serve you well.

Dear Prospective Associate, Are you flexible, experienced, personable and good to work with? Is it your intention to serve couples per how they want it (they're the CEOs and you are caring staff)? If this is you, email me. NOTE: officiants from all ethnic, cultural backgrounds and denominations are welcome! And it doesn't matter that we are already in your area because you are unique, and because we are a "matching service" (and need a variety of associates in each area so we can meet a couple's needs well). Thank You, Paul.
